Coronation Garden, North Bar Within, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 8DG
Meet the bees! A chance to chat with the local beekeepers in this attractive town centre garden, and watch the bees in their safe case. Honey and bee-related products will be for sale.
Beekeeping has become increasingly popular as more people are aware of the important job they fulfil in the pollination of crops and the health benefits of local honey. The beekeepers will explain how the bees operate in the hive, how to tell if your bees are healthy and how the honey is collected. All bees will be safely behind a perspex frame! There will be an opportunity to buy local honey, candles and all the associated products of the hives.
The event takes place in Coronation Garden, the site of a large Georgian house, and a smaller house that had access to Westwood. Both of these were demolished around 1827. The land was sold to St. Mary's Church and became the burial ground until 1869.
