East Riding Theatre is a vibrant, professional theatre located in a converted Baptist chapel in Beverley. Founded by actor and Beverley resident Vincent Regan and achieved through a huge community effort, the theatre opened its doors for the first time in December 2014. It has since delivered an eclectic programme of quality theatre, music and entertainment to the people of HU17 and beyond.

You will also enjoy ERT’s light-hearted outdoor walking trail around. Called the Time Traveller’s Theatre Trail it poses such questions as ‘Ever wondered where the first theatre was in Beverley? Or what popular entertainment looked like in the Middle Ages?

From the infamous wife sale in Saturday Market to the childhood home of feminist icon Mary Wollstonecraft, Beverley’s theatrical history is full of surprises!
