5 York Road, Beverley, HU17 8DP

Opening Times

Saturday 12 September: 11am - 4pm

Access: not wheelchair friendly

5 York Road is western half of a pair of adjoining  brick-built houses with slate roofs. The recessed door under a circular brick arch has bays of different design to each side. Stone cills to most of the windows. A well designed late Victorian house built by Francis Smith, who also built houses in Westwood Road and the northern pair on Westwood View.

No. 5 and no. 6 York Road are both open for the second weekend of Heritage Open Days. This is very much a courtyard garden bounded by high walls on all sides providing a sheltered arbour for a huge variety of plants many with interesting foliage, including Heuchera and Hosta.
